Francine's Story

Francine Niragira is a mother, a wife, and a skilled carpenter who was onboarded onto Fixa about a year ago. In that time, her life has taken a remarkable turn.

Before Fixa, Francine had spent years navigating informal construction work, uncertain where her next job—or paycheck—would come from. That all changed when she joined Fixa. With consistent work and access to reliable income, Francine and her husband were able to complete construction on their family home—something she proudly calls her biggest achievement yet.

Beyond bricks and walls, the impact runs deeper. “My kids didn’t have to stop going to school, and I can now afford their insurance,” she says. “I’m really grateful for that—to Fixa, and to the Lord who brought it into our lives.”

But it wasn’t just regular work that changed things. When an old debt began to weigh heavily on the family, Francine turned to Fixa’s Earned Wage Access (EWA) to pay it off in full. “Before, I used to borrow money from friends or relatives. The interest was high, and everyone knew your business,” she explains. “Now, I can manage emergencies in peace.”

With more control over her finances, Francine has been able to save more than ever. “I feel secure about the future now,” she says. “Fixa gave me stability. Now I can take care of my family without hesitation.”

Looking ahead, Francine dreams of starting her own business, and thanks to the steady progress she’s made, she believes she could make it happen in as little as five years.

Her story is a reminder of the power of consistent work, financial access, and dignity on the job.
